Mykonos Island

The little but beautiful Mykonos Island is found in the waters of the Aegean and belongs to the Greek archipelago of the Cycled Islands . The surface of the island is just over a hundred square kilometers and the highest point reaches 364 meters above sea level. In spite of its small size and their low population (barely exceeds 10,000 inhabitants), mykonos is one of the most beautiful places of Europe and the greatest point of tourist attraction in Greece .

The small formation has a majority granitic soil. In turn, it suffers an important shortage of water, so it is vital to achieve it through desalination (process to remove salt from seawater).

The main tourist attractions of the island of Mykonos are the exciting nightlife, the homogeneous white city and, above all, the spectacular beaches. All these factors have made the city famous among the International Jet-Set, which on many occasions opted for this place as headquarters for their vacation.
Logically, the economy of Mykonos is based mainly on the tourism industry. Of course, the paradisiacal island not only offers the quieter and blue beaches of the Aegean , it also has other import attractions, such as museums, villages, monasteries and an exquisite gastronomy.

As for the constructions, the popular Greek island is characterized by homogeneous houses, painted white with blue tones. The rustic style is perfectly complemented by the bluish waters and the generally clear sky of mykonos .
